Mitt is gevlucht uit het Zuiden, maar hij komt er snel achter dat het in Noord- Daalmark ook allemaal geen koek en ei is. Als hij wordt gedwongen het meisje Noreth te vermoorden dat beweert aanspraak op de troon van heel Daalmark te maken, vlucht hij. Samen met Noreth en een bende volgelingen gaat hij op zoek naar de ring, het zwaard en de kelk. Alleen met deze drie dingen kan de kroon worden opgeëist zodat het land weer één kan worden. Maar Kankredins boze machten zijn nabij, vastbesloten om Mitt tegen te houden...</ins></div></td></tr> </table>
