Het zijn ofwel verholen Harry Dickson-stories, exotische avonturenverhalen of originele speurdersverhalen, waarvan velen na de oorlog in aangepaste vorm in de reeks van de Vlaamse Filmpjes zullen worden hernomen. In BRAVO publiceerde de polygraaf John Flanders op vier jaar tijd niet minder dan 22 vervolgromans, 200 korte verhalen, 30 sprookjes en 6 stripscenario's! In die tijd ook trekt John Flanders zowel als pionier, alsook als meesterverteller het detectivelaken dusdanig naar zich, dat hij de Vlaamse Letteren een totdantoe ongekende dimensie meegeeft. Dat hij nooit eerder de grootste Vlaamse detective-auteur werd genoemd, lag vooral aan het feit dat dit werk nooit in boekvorm verscheen. Het is als een, misschien te late, huldeblijk dat wij de reeks 'Speurders in actie' voortzetten en nu alle speurdersverhalen van Edmund Bell en zijn mentor Sidney Triggs in twee bundels brengen. Over enkele maanden verschijn 'Speurders in actie III', waarin het vervolg van de avonturen van Edmund Bell en Sudney Triggs.</ins></div></td></tr> </table>
