In een poging daar verandering in te brengen vroegen Vamba Sherif en Martijn Lindeboom Nederlandse auteurs met allerlei verschillende culturele achtergronden zich te laten inspireren door het beroemde sciencefictionverhaal ‘De komeet’ uit 1920 van W.E.B. Du Bois, waarin een relatie tussen een zwarte man en een witte vrouw alleen mogelijk is als een ramp hun sociale omgeving uitroeit. In de hedendaagse speculatieve verhalen die voor dit boek geschreven werden, valt naast de nodige fantasie ook enige maatschappijkritiek te bespeuren.</ins></div></td></tr> </table>
