Na een opleiding als koopman en het werken bij een autodealer begon Ewers in 1956  geneeskunde te studeren in Halle (Saale), die hij niet kon afmaken vanwege zijn dissidente houding. In plaats daarvan werd hij een middelbare school leraar. Kort voor de muur werd gebouwd in 1961, vluchtte hij naar West-Duitsland. Hier werd zijn eerste, reeds in de DDR geschreven roman gepubliceerd in 1962 met als titel 'Intrige auf Chibbu' onder het pseudoniem H. G. Ewers. In 1964 schreef hij 'Die verhängnisvolle Expedition' zijn eerste paperback voor de Perry Rhodan serie, vanaf 1965 was hij met deeltje 198 in de tijdschriftenserie bezig. Bovendien schreef Ewers veel delen in de Atlan spin-off serie. Hij stond bekend om zijn eigenzinnige gevoel voor humor en als schepper van de originele figuren. In totaal schreef Ewers  meer dan 445 science fiction romans, waaronder meer dan 300 voor de Perry Rhodan serie. Vanaf 1996 studeerde Gehrmann opnieuw geneeskunde aan de Universiteit van Basel. Hij was betrokken bij, onder andere, de Mars Society en woonde samen met zijn tweede vrouw in Weil am Rhein. Was een Duitse science fcition schrijver. Na een opleiding als koopman en het werken bij een autodealer begon Ewers in 1956  geneeskunde te studeren in Halle (Saale), die hij niet kon afmaken vanwege zijn dissidente houding. In plaats daarvan werd hij een middelbare school leraar. Kort voor de muur werd gebouwd in 1961, vluchtte hij naar West-Duitsland. Hier werd zijn eerste, reeds in de DDR geschreven roman gepubliceerd in 1962 met als titel 'Intrige auf Chibbu' onder het pseudoniem H. G. Ewers. In 1964 schreef hij 'Die verhängnisvolle Expedition' zijn eerste paperback voor de Perry Rhodan serie, vanaf 1965 was hij met deeltje 198 in de tijdschriftenserie bezig. Bovendien schreef Ewers veel delen in de Atlan spin-off serie. Hij stond bekend om zijn eigenzinnige gevoel voor humor en als schepper van de originele figuren. In totaal schreef Ewers  meer dan 445 science fiction romans, waaronder meer dan 300 voor de Perry Rhodan serie. Vanaf 1996 studeerde Gehrmann opnieuw geneeskunde aan de Universiteit van Basel. Hij was betrokken bij, onder andere, de Mars Society en woonde samen met zijn tweede vrouw in Weil am Rhein. Gestorven in Weil am Rhein</ins></div></td></tr> </table>
