Ze maakte als Studio Vliegvis werk in opdracht: illustraties voor (kinder)boeken en educatieve uitgaven, en grafische vormgeving van huisstijlen, folders, spel en lesmethoden. Haar  interesse in de mens lag ook altijd op het gebied van spiritualiteit/bewustzijn en gezondheid. Het thema ‘ziekte’ speelde een grote rol in haar familie en omgeving, waardoor ze op zoek ging naar antwoorden en uitwegen. In de jaren negentig begon ze met Transcedente Meditatie, Reiki en Tai Chi Chuan en later Taiji Wuxigong (Qi Gong), een Japanse bewegingsleer.  ‘Qi’ is (levens)energie, overal om ons heen en in onszelf aanwezig. Bij Qi-gong leerde ze deze energie voelen en gebruiken. Sturen door niet te sturen: een spontane beweging die ontstond en haar enorm heeft geholpen bij mentale, emotionele en fysieke processen. Door haar denken uit te schakelen en alleen een intentie te voelen, deed haar lichaam uit zichzelf wat nodig was om te helen. Deze oefeningen doet ze nog bijna elke dag. Bij een healing maakt ze ook gebruik van deze ‘Qi’, ook wel Chi of Prana genoemd. Haar eerste kennismaking met massage was in 2010, toen ze de opleiding Zen-Shiatsu deed. Dit is een vorm van Acupressuur, het behandelen van drukpunten over je hele lichaam. Het was een eye-opener te voelen en ervaren wat massage met je kan doen. In 2016/2017 kreeg het echt vorm. Ze deed de opleiding Klassieke Massage bij Dutch Bodywork Academy in Leeuwarden en kreeg de smaak te pakken. En daarna heeft ze zich in meerdere vormen van massage verdiept. Voor haar werd duidelijk dat ze graag mensen wilde behandelen en ondersteunen bij hun eigen heling. Praktijk Maj ging van start! Ze woont en werkt in Wijnjewoude</ins>.</div></td></tr> </table>
