Tom Rijpers is een Nederlandse regisseur en auteur van jeugdboeken. Hij wilde vroeger regisseur van avontuurlijke Fantasyfilms worden. Hoorspelen op cassettebandjes maakten plaats voor een videocamera, en filmpjes met Lego-poppetjes en vrienden leidden tot een carrière als regisseur. En toen borrelde er ineens een verhaal in hem op dat zich perfect leende voor een boek. Hij kon niet anders dan het opschrijven en zo ontstond ''De Zeven Sleutels''. Het eerste deel van de Zeven Sleutels; ''Het Pad van de Roverkoning'', kwam uit in juni 2023 en belandde datzelfde jaar meteen in de Grote Vriendelijke 100.
