De film was gebaseerd op haar eigen script. Haar speelfilmdebuut maakte ze met ''Titanics ti liv'' (2008), gebaseerd op een kinderboek van Axel Hellstenius. De film won prijzen op het Cinekid Kinderfilmfestival in Amsterdam en op het Kinderfilmfestival in Chicago. Bøe heeft actief deelgenomen aan het debat over het aandeel vrouwen in de Noorse filmindustrie.
