Behaalde van 1976 tot 1978 een Bachelor’s Degree, HBO Bibliotheek en documentatie aan het Frederik Muller Academie, Amsterdam en volgde van 1983 tot 1988 de vertaalopleiding aan het Instituut voor Vertaalwetenschap van de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Ze heeft inmiddels een ruime staat van dienst als vertaler uit het Engels, Frans en Duits en als redacteur van Nederlandse teksten. Ze vertaalt romans en verhalen voor onder andere De Bezige Bij, Nijgh &amp; Van Ditmar, De Arbeiderspers en Meulenhoff, en kunstboeken voor wetenschappelijk en algemeen publiek in opdracht van Ludion, Lannoo en diverse musea in Nederland en België. Van 1993 tot 2004 en van 2017 tot 2021 was zij betrokken bij het project Nieuwe Bijbelvertaling. Saskia van der Lingen schrijft artikelen en recensies voor o.a. het tijdschrift ''Filter'' en werkt incidenteel als docent vertalen en vertaalcoach bij het Instituut Vreemde Talen van de Universiteit Utrecht, het Expertisecentrum Literair Vertalen en de VertalersVakschool. Haar vertaling van Max Porters ''Verdriet is het ding met veren'' werd bekroond met de Europese Literatuurprijs 2017. Ze woont en werkt momenteel in Monnickendam.</ins></div></td></tr> </table>
