| Geboren in Kopenhagen, Denemarken. Schreef in de vroege jaren tachtig strips voor het linkse alternatieve weekblad ‘København’. (Kopenhagen), which in 1982 also published his album Gå løs på livet (Go for It). It was followed by Langt ud af halsen! (Far Out of the Throat) in 1984 and Kys Kiss) in 1987. In these three albums, Aakeson appears as a satirist along the same lines as Georges Wolinski and Jean-Marc Reiser - just as harsh in his satirical treatment of people for better or worse, and just as uncompromising and expressive in his style. Nothing is sacred to him, and nothing escapes his observant eye.
| Since his debut in København, Aakeson has created hard-hitting illustrations for several Copenhagen newspapers and for the critical magazine Press.
| In 1988 comics publisher Interpresse released his fourth album, Op og stå! (Get Up, Stand Up), which continues in the same traditon as the previous three albums. With the publication of this album, Aakeson can be said to have abandoned the Copenhagen underground, although the provocation and satire is just as shameless. Kim Fupz Aakeson is also a playwright as well as author and illustrator of several children’s books. In these works the brutal satire is replaced with subtle humour and the uninhibited provocations of child-like poetry and free-wheeling fantasy. Won de Zilveren Zoen met ‘Waanzinnige wereld’ (1998).
